To All Our Golfers and Friends,
Enclosed is the 2009 early season discount rate
schedule. Unavoidably, we have had to raise our season pass and season
cart rates. We have tried to spread these increases as evenly as
possible so as not to unfairly burden any one group. As you review the
schedule we have incorporated some new options.
-A senior rate for those
72 and over; the old rates remain the same. We sincerely value this
group who have supported our course for so long and in some cases can
least afford an increase of any kind.
-A single player family rate is now
available. If you and your children play golf but your spouse does not
this may be a more affordable option than the regular family rate.
- In order to encourage new players and
those of you who may not have bought a season pass in the last few years
there is a special one time discount.
- Single and couples package plans are
available. These plans include both season golf pass and season use of a
golf cart. We have maximized savings and a payment plan is available
for the couple plan.
-We have reinstated a discount for any one
who lives 25 miles or more from the golf course. Please deduct $25.00
off of any of the rates. We appreciate your effort and extra expense to
come play.
In September the voting members elected Jim Hart
and Tom Leeming to fill the board of directors seats vacated by Tony
Schaufler and Carl Pearson. We would like to thank Tony and Carl for all
their years of dedication, time and service to the golf course. We
would especially like to thank Carl Pearson who has generously donated
materials and countless hours of labor working on the course,
maintaining and upgrading the electrical infrastructure of the course.
Carl has saved the golf course tens of thousands of dollars and his
efforts are sincerely appreciated.
Looking forward to the 2009 season we are working
on a number of new ideas and projects. It is our mission to provide a
fun and affordable golfing experience while maintaining the course to
the highest standards and seeking to constantly improve the layout and
playability of the course.
We have formed a budget committee and formulated a
budget for 2009. This will help us monitor, anticipate and control the
financial challenges facing the golf course.
The golf course faces constant financial
challenges, aging equipment, infrastructure, increasing overhead and
operating costs, etc. We are pursuing the possibility of incorporating
the golf course into a “Park and Recreation” district. By becoming a
Park and Recreation district we would be able to access county funding
which would greatly help supplement the operation of the course.
Additionally, a Park and Recreation district would help facilitate and
fund other recreation projects and interests which would benefit the
entire community.
We have compiled a long term capital improvement
plan for the golf course. This includes cart path improvements,
expansion and upgrades to the irrigation system, additional sand
bunkers, additional landscaping, additional tee boxes and improvements
to the driving range. These projects will not be funded from the golf
course operating budget. We hope to accomplish these projects through
volunteers, private donations and fund raising. We also will be
applying for some available grants.
In October volunteers poured a concrete slab at the
back of the driving range practice tee box. There are six mats to hit
from. You are welcome to use the driving range any time this winter and
spring. Please bring your own golf balls, there will not be any
available from the golf course.
Additionally the original first tee box (to the
right of the practice green) will be available in 2009 for use as an
alternate tee.
Over the winter the snack bar area will be
remodeled. We hope to have a bigger and better selection of food and
beverages available next year.
Thanks to Pat Stoltz and Pat Nunn and their staffs
for all their hard work and dedication to make Madison Meadows a great
place to play golf. Thanks to all the volunteers throughout the year who
worked on the course and clubhouse. Finally thanks to everyone for your
play and support. See you in 2009!
Sincerely,
The Board
of Directors
