We are pleased to have this tournament back; it was a huge success in 2010 and provided a huge boost to the golf course and our local economy.

In the meantime, we have a full slate of golf course improvements we would like to initiate this spring. These include: a new tee box and irrigation on hole #2; fairway bunkers on holes #2 & #4; reclamation, irrigation and seeding of the upper waste bunker on hole #9; new siding for the pump house on hole #3; a French drain in front of #6 green; ongoing cart path improvements; a new bridge from the parking lot to the clubhouse in memory of Hulen Coker; and refurbishment of all sand bunkers with new (red) sand.

As in the past, this is only possible through donations and volunteers, no golf course operating funds are used for improvements. At this point, siding for the pump house has been donated, a backhoe and operator has been made available, the sand is available (all we have to do is haul it), sod, which was donated last year, is still available and Pat Stoltz, as in the past, has made all his equipment available including his Bobcat and dump truck.

In addition to the above donations, an anonymous donor has agreed to fund at least one of the proposed projects. We are still in need of additional funds to accomplish this year’s goals and beyond. Our fundraiser for the clubhouse carpet, before the last High School Championship, was hugely successful and we are again asking for donations no matter how small. Donations of $5, $10, $20 add up quickly and will make all the difference.

Donations can be made in person at the clubhouse, we are now open daily for the 2012 season, by mail: Madison Meadows, P.O. Box 522 Ennis, MT 59729 or by PayPal or credit card by clicking on the ‘Donate‘ button on the right side of this page. For further information, please contact the Pro Shop at (406) 682-7468

Thank you for your interest and generosity in helping Madison Meadows reach its full potential and making Madison Meadows the great facility we all enjoy so much.

Sincerely,
The Madison County Golf Association Board of Directors

Tom Leeming President

Jim Hart Vice President

Jackie Smith Secretary/Treasurer

Don Bowen

Larry Cornely

Jerry Singleton

Bill Youngs

Golf Course Opening

http://www.madisonmeadowsgolfcourse.com/1/post/2012/03/golf-course-opening.html

http://www.madisonmeadowsgolfcourse.com/1/post/2012/03/golf-course-opening.html#comments

Uncategorized

MADISON MEADOWS IS OPEN FOR THE 2012 SEASON!We are allowing Golf Carts, daily conditions permittingalso we request 'Sneakers only' until we start watering greens [...]

MADISON MEADOWS IS OPEN FOR THE 2012 SEASON!

We are allowing Golf Carts, daily conditions permitting

also we request 'Sneakers only' until we start watering greens

Annual Letter

http://www.madisonmeadowsgolfcourse.com/1/post/2011/12/post-title-click-and-type-to-edit.html

http://www.madisonmeadowsgolfcourse.com/1/post/2011/12/post-title-click-and-type-to-edit.html#comments

Uncategorized

DECEMBER 2011 TO ALL OUR GOLFERS AND FRIENDS, Despite another spring of inclement weather, 2011 was another great year for Madison Meadows. We say this every year, but once again, the Golf Course was in fantastic condition and the Pro Shop inventory was great as always. Thanks to Pat Stoltz and Michael Brandon along with their staff for their extraordinary efforts in making Madison Meadows a truly premier nine hole golf course. Most importantly, thanks to all our members and patrons who make Madison Meadows such a fun and delightful place to play golf, tennis and spend time.

Early last spring we were happy to welcome Michael Brandon as our new Greens keeper. Michael brings over 20 years’ experience, and along with his great attitude, is a perfect fit for our golf course. Michael’s first priority was to get our greens up to speed and he certainly did not disappoint. Our greens looked and played better than they have in recent memory. Michael was quick to learn the intricacies and quirks of our golf course and quickly got the course looking and playing great. Michael has great ideas and plans for the course and we look forward to having him on our team for many years to come.

This year capital improvements’ saw the completion of new tee boxes and irrigation on the 6th and 8th holes. Madison Meadows can now boast 32 individual tee boxes and 45 sets of tees. Madison Meadows is committed to the PGA’s program “play it forward” and the new tee boxes and variety of tees greatly facilitate that program. The philosophy of “tee it forward” is to take the emphasis off making golf courses longer and subsequently more difficult , but, rather making golf courses more manageable and fun for every handicap.

This May Madison Meadows will once again host the High School Class C Championship. The three day event was a huge success in 2010 and we are excited to have it back in 2012.

Madison Meadows now has a greatly enhanced web site. Posted on the website are newsletters, pictures, tournament schedules, calendars, the By-laws, maps and rates including a printable preseason pass form. You can also now find Madison Meadows on Google Maps. In addition to the web site and Google Maps we are now on ‘Facebook’. During the season we post what’s going on around the golf course and Facebook is a great way to keep up with the daily happenings at Madison Meadows. Lastly, we are compiling an Email data base to keep all those interested informed about important updates and announcements concerning the golf course. If you are not already on our list you can sign up on either the web site or through a link on Facebook.

In 2012, we are again planning more improvements around the golf course. Two major projects include an additional tee box on Hole #2 and the reclamation, irrigation, mounding and seeding of the upper waste bunker on Hole #9. We have also found a source and are considering replacing the sand in all the bunkers. The sand we found has a very distinct ‘red’ color to it and would give the course a very unique appearance. As always, all improvements will be made through donations at no cost to the golf course operating budget.

Late winter of 2011 saw the passing of Hulen Coker. Hulen was a great friend and patron of Madison Meadows and will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him. In memorial to Hulen, this spring we will construct a new bridge from the parking lot to the clubhouse made possible by donations that have been made in his name.

Once again, we have temporary tees, pins and cups for winter play. The driving range is also open, please hit from the mats. The Golf course will open for the 2012 season at the earliest possible date weather permitting (Hopefully, early March).

Finally, we are happy to announce there will be no rate increases for the 2012 season. Through the efforts of Pat Stoltz, Michael Brandon and our entire staff, controlling costs and working within our budget, Madison Meadows had a profitable year and was able to make some substantial reductions to our operating and long term debt.

See our website for a printable 2012 preseason rate sheet. If you are interested in a season pass at the preseason discount please have this in by March 1st.

Thanks for a great year and looking forward to a fantastic 2012!

Happy Holidays,

Madison County Golf Association

Board of Directors

Tom Leeming, President

Jim Hart, Vice President

Jackie Smith, Secretary/Treasurer

Don Bowen

Larry Cornely

Jerry Singleton

Bill Youngs

November 2011 Newsletter

http://www.madisonmeadowsgolfcourse.com/1/post/2011/11/november-2011-newsletter.html

http://www.madisonmeadowsgolfcourse.com/1/post/2011/11/november-2011-newsletter.html#comments

Uncategorized

On behalf of the Staff and the Board of Directors thank you to everyone for a fantastic 2011 Golf Season. The inclement spring weather had us starting off slow in May and June but with July came great weather and some absolutely great golf days! The Madison Meadows Golf Course showed some great improvements with new projects and daily course conditions. A new course superintendent was hired at the beginning of the year. Mike Brandon did a wonderful job of getting the course up and running, with great mowing patterns, faster and truer greens and better overall golf course conditions.

One highlight that I am proud to say worked well for us was a national program called “Tee it Forward” that was promoted by the PGA and certainly fit well into our Long Range Improvement Plan for golf course improvements. A new tee box for ladies was added to Hole #6 which tremendously helps the average female golfer navigate this difficult hole. A new tee box on Hole #2 for ladies will also be constructed this fall and finished in the spring. Also a new tee box on hole #8 for men was constructed and opened for play on Hole #8 making a beautiful tee shot on this great par 3 hole. The fountain in #8 pond was also repaired and put into service adding a very nice touch to #8 as well.

Our Long Range Improvement Plan for the course is coming along nicely and is about 1/3 completed. Work is being done on the right side of Hole #9 and we have applied for a grant to help with the finishing on the right side of Hole #4 with more irrigation, trees and a fairway sand trap. We are continually striving to improve the course for all of our players. A side note to the course improvements is that all of the projects completed have come from donations in the form of cash, materials, equipment and labor. No money is taken from the general operating revenue from the course helping us keep the annual and daily rates at a very low cost to our patrons!

We are all looking forward to another fantastic year in 2012! In May we again will be hosting the State High School “C” Tournament which is great for our course and certainly great for our community!

See you all soon and remember to keep you ball in the short grass!

Sincerely,

Patrick Stoltz
PGA Professional

Spring 2011

http://www.madisonmeadowsgolfcourse.com/1/post/2011/03/first-post.html

http://www.madisonmeadowsgolfcourse.com/1/post/2011/03/first-post.html#comments

Uncategorized

Greetings Madison Meadows Golfers! We are OPEN!!
